THERESA MAE BEASLEY RISDEN
NEWTON…Theresa Risden, Sweetheart, Momma, Momma T, T Mae, Gran, Granny, Aunt Theresa…one amazing woman with many names and and loved by so many…left her earthly body and reunited with her mom in Heaven on Friday, April 29, 2022. She was surrounded by loved ones in her home as she peacefully left all of her pain behind and went to sit at the feet of Jesus. While she gave birth to only 3 children, she was a mom to every child who ever walked through the doors of her home. She loved fiercely and gave everything to anyone who needed it. For 69 years this world was a better place because of the love that she showed to so many who needed it. Her only goal in this world was to be the best mom, grandmother, and aunt to all of her “kids” and an amazing wife to her soul mate, Clarence. We all smile today as we know that Jesus met her and spoke the words “well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, George and Imogene Peters, 2 sisters Carolyn and Molly, 2 brothers Gene and Johnny Robert, a special sister-in-law Brenda, 2 nieces Christine and Amanda, and 1 nephew Dewayne.
Although she has left this world, her love will live on because she leaves so many behind that she taught by example to be selfless and love without limits. She leaves behind to carry on her work, her devoted and loving husband Clarence Risden, 3 children Geana Tindell, Charlotte (Joseph) Kirkpatrick, Nicholas Beasley, 2 step-children Andy (Summer) Risden and Christopher Scott Risden and 1 special daughter-in-law Brook (Tyson) Carter, 10 grandchildren Austin, Chase, and Everleigh, Ethan, Chyann, Aubrey, Michael, Clarence Thomas, Torri, and Carrie, 2 great-grandchildren, and many many other children who although not related by blood, called her Gran, to include Sailor Farley and Noah Holt. She was a sister to 11 and leaves memories to cherish with 3 sisters Marilyn, Trina (Rodney) Armstrong, and Sharon (Bruce) Bond, and 4 brothers Jimmy (Virginia) Peters, Johnny Herald Peters, Ronnie (Tonya) Peters, and Jeff Peters.
To say that she was an aunt to 19 and a great-aunt to 17 would be an understatement. Her nieces and nephews would all tell you that she was a second mom and her home, a second home. While moms and aunts aren’t supposed to have favorites, there was always a special place in her heart for the nieces and nephews that she was able to help raise when she was younger and healthy. Those nieces and nephews, Monica and Elizabeth, Tyler, Eddie, Nina, Sherri, Wendi and Bentley were by her side until the end and carry this loss heavily but her love even deeper.
The family would like to thank friends and extended family for all of the visits, help, calls and messages and during this time. In honoring her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Her final wishes were to have her ashes spread over Oklahoma, where her mother was from, and Alaska, a place that called to her and that she was able to visit prior to falling sick. The last thing that she asked was that we have a family reunion and remember the happy times. In lieu of flowers we ask that you bring a dish and join us on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Theresa and Clarence’s home for a celebration of her life.
