Thomas “Doc” Parker of Geneva, AL, passed away Sunday April 24, 2022. He was 78. In keeping with Doc’s wishes there will not be any services at this time.


Doc was born on April 24, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Thomas Joe and Vanita D. Perry Parker. Doc was the voice of Geneva, hosting the WGEA morning show in Geneva for 25 years.  He was well known for covering the Geneva Panthers sports activities for many years. Doc was very instrumental in his involvement with the Operation Christmas drive for needy children in our area.  In 2016, the Geneva City Council honored him for his 25 years of dedicated and loyal service to the community.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Charmelee Joy.


Doc is survived by two sons, Jack Parker and Scott Parker; one daughter, Jana Parker; one brother, Leland L. “Lee” Parker; grandchildren Nevaeh & Savannah Helton, Maya and Jeremiah Alvarado, and Taylor Parker; one Goddaughter, Christa Thompson and her sister, Megan.


The family would like to thank Melinda Helton, Stephanie Underwood Wiggins and all the caregivers and medical staff that really turned out every day to see Doc through this journey.
