Thomas Hardy, a resident of Taylor, Alabama passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of North Florida. He was 88.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.


Mr. Hardy was born on August 31, 1929 in Clayton, Alabama and lived his early years there. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years during the Korean War. Mr. Hardy was employed with Supreme Ice Cream and later worked with Wrigley Gum Company for 40 years until his retirement in 1993. He has been farming and tending to the farm for the past 25 years.


Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hardy.


Survivors include his son, Greg (Renee Kidd) Hardy; his granddaughter, Kelli Hardy; his great grandson, Tristan Hardy; his brother-in-law, Wren (Barbara) Layton; and several nieces and nephews.
