DOTHAN. . . Thomas L. “Sonny” Glover, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday night, January 24, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. He was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 28, 2018, in the Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ricky Plummer and Reverend Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. Holman Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.
Sonny Glover was born and reared in Ozark, son of the late J T Glover and Valera Walker Glover. He moved to Dothan as a teenager and was a graduate of Ashford High School. Sonny served his country in the U. S. Navy. He and his son, Tommy, owned and operated Circle Auto Wholesalers. In earlier years, he and his father owned and operated Glover Piano Service and he also owned Glover Auto Repair Service. In his younger years, Sonny was an avid race car driver. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and loved singing in the Bethel Quartet. Sonny formerly served as a missionary in Romania and helped hundreds of children. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather May.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Ramona Glover, Dothan; a daughter, Donna May (Jackie) and a son, Tommy Glover (Genon), all of Webb, AL; a sister, Sue Jones, Webb, AL; five grandchildren, Brad Adams, Jocee Glover, Molly Glover, Jonathan Adams (Wendy) and Katie Givens (Justin); five great-grandchildren, Logan Adams, Karsyn Adams, Maddie Jo Adams, Charlie Givens and Lucas Givens; mother-in-law, Dorina Cindisteanu; sisters-in-law, Mirela Lupas, Laura Wingate (Michael) and Mihaela Uturas (Adrian).
