Tom Damron of Enterprise, AL, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012, at his home.  He was 73.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, September, 19th at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Stone officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, September 18th.                                                                                                     


 


Tom was born in Hellier, KY, in 1939 to Hassel and Iness Damron.  He loved Kentucky basketball and family gatherings. Mr. Damron spent 20 years with the Armed Services and after retiring he spent 18 years with Civil Service as a Civil Engineer, with a total of 38 years with the military.  He was a Vietnam Veteran and received many awards, including Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal.  He worked the last eight years with Wal-Mart and was truly proud of the associates, Wal-Mart Customers and friends he loved.  He was thankful every day God blessed him by allowing him to enjoy the time and friends he was blessed with.  Love and God bless all of you, especially my wife, Jackie.


 


He was preceded in death by his parents, Hassell and Iness Damron, two sisters, and one brother.


    


Tom was a loving husband and father to his wife, Jackie Damron, Enterprise, AL; his children, Patricia, Scott, Judy, Barry, Wade, Jason and Josh; two sons-in-law, Kenny Thompson and Rod Akers; one daughter-in-law, Dawn McDonnell; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
