Thomas Ray Clark of Dothan passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab. He was 69.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Willis officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center in Dothan, AL.
Thomas was born on December 14, 1947 in Dothan, AL to the late Ocie Clark and Jewell Powell. Thomas was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He graduated from Dothan High School in 1967, attended Wallace College, Troy State University and graduated from University of Alabama in Birmingham with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine. He worked at SAMC for 32 years before retiring after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He loved to water ski, hunt and fish. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Besides his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his sister, Mitzi Watson, and his best friend, Calvin Kelley.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jane Clark of Dothan, AL; daughter, Asher Marie Flynn (Mark) of Austin, TX; sons, Thomas Wade Clark and David Calvin Clark of Dothan, AL; sister, Sonya Davis of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Evey Jewell and Jack Henry Flynn.
Honorary pallbearers will include Johnny Oppert’s Sunday School Class.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Westside Terrace and the Bonifay Nursing and Rehab for their wonderful care.
