Timothy E. Hatcher, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Flowers Hospital. He was 65.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dothan with Reverend Jay Joy officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 3012 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama, 36305.
Tim was born June 26, 1959, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and spent his childhood in Marianna, Florida. Following high school graduation, he attended Wallace College where he played baseball. He then transferred to Florida State University where he continued his athletic career and earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology. Tim served as a police officer, probation officer, arson investigator, and was a licensed appraiser during his working career. In 2002, he moved to Dothan where he spent the remainder of his life.
Tim enjoyed fishing and the activities at Compass Lake. He loved being with family especially his children and grandchildren. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
Survivors include his parents, Woodrow Hatcher (Linda) of Marianna, Florida, Patricia Odom of Dellwood, Florida and Chuck Brown (Eileen) of Connecticut; his wife, Sarah Jane Hatcher of Dothan; a daughter, Jordan Hatcher and a son, Lance Hatcher, both of Crestview, Florida; two stepsons, Hampton Skipper (Kari) and Hunter Skipper (Sarah), all of Dothan; six grandchildren; two brothers, Rick Hatcher (Cheryl) of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Chuck Hatcher (Patte) of Dellwood, Florida; a sister, Robyn Gable (Gary) of Grand Ridge, Florida; a dear cousin who was like a brother, Nathan Basford “Bubba”; several nieces and nephews also survive.
