ABBEVILLE. . .Timothy Ernest Benton, a resident of Abbeville, died early Saturday morning, February 6, 2021, in a Mobile, Alabama hospital. He was 58.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in the New Testament Holiness Church, near Abbeville, with Reverend Harold Pettis, Brother B. J. Dailey and Brother Jason Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
Timothy Benton was born in Tampa, Florida and moved to the Wiregrass area as a child. He lived in Henry County, near Abbeville, most of his lifetime. Timothy is a member of the New Testament Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Junior Benton.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Rebecca Marlow Benton a sister, Angela Dailey (B.J.), and two brothers, Joel Benton (Brittney) and David Benton (Brenda), all of Abbeville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
