NEWTON…Timothy Joe “Tim” Greer, a resident of Newton, died Saturday morning July 11, 2020 in a Dothan hospital as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident which occurred June 26, on Barrington Rd. in Dothan. He was 56.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday July 17, 2020 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Parker officiating and Mr. Richard Parker giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. Social distancing guidelines will be observed.
Tim was born in Chattanooga, TN., and moved to Dothan at a young age. He lived in the Dothan and Midland City area most of his lifetime. Tim graduated from Northview High School and attended Wallace Community College. He was employed as a roofer and carpenter in the residential construction business and was of the Baptist faith. Tim had a special love for the great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father Edgar M. Greer, a sister Christina Greer Locke, a brother Levy M. Greer and a nephew Justin Lee Wallace.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Louise Ward Greer of Newton, a sister, Pam Smith (Charles) of Midland City, his niece Tori Riley, two nephews, Matthew Locke and Michael Locke, a great nephew, Loggin Welk, and several aunts and uncles.
