Tom Riley, 85, of 8508 Spooner Quarter Rd., Blakely, Ga. 39823 passed away suddenly Friday evening, September 8, 2017 at his residence. His funeral will be held at Beulah Baptist Church, Cedar Springs, GA on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2 PM EDT with Rev. Bill Hovey and Dr. Boyd Evans officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday night from 7 until 9 PM EDT at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery with active pallbearers Randy Lashley, Zane and Kyle Riley, Keith Harrell, Chuck DeVane and Jeremy Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Evans, McDonald’s Breakfast Crew.
Tom was born on August, 14, 1932 to the late William Mason Riley and Ollie Mae Golden Riley. He was owner/operator of Tom’s Barber Shop for 50 plus years. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tom Randall Riley; one sister, Dixie Samson; three brothers, Red, Rudolph and Eldridge Riley.
His survivors include his wife, Lois Jean Ellis Riley; one daughter, Deb Riley Posey of Colquitt, GA, one son, Eddie Riley and Sharon of Blakely, GA; two sisters, Pat Griffin, Cairo, GA, and Shirley Storch, Augusta, GA. six grandchildren, Shanna Harrell and Keith, Savannah, GA, Tamra DeVane and Chuck, Marietta, GA, Randy Lashley, BJ Oliver and Jeremy, Zane Riley all of Blakely, GA and Kyle Riley of Atlanta, GA; and ten great-grandchildren.
