EUFAULA…Tommie Trawick Halstead Brown, a resident of Eufaula, died early Sunday morning, March 2, 2014, in Crowne Health Care of Eufaula. She was 85.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in the Wesley Chapel Community Church, near the Bertha Community of Dale County, with Rev. Tom Skeen officiating. Burial will follow in the Bell’s Crossroads Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mrs. Brown, daughter of the late Thomas B. Trawick and Ollie Pilcher Trawick Isler, was born and reared in Ozark. She lived in Eufaula most of her adult lifetime and also lived in the Ewell Community, near Ozark, and Abbeville. She was formerly employed by Wearwell in Eufaula and was a member of the Mabson United Methodist Church, near Ozark. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husbands, Wade W. Halstead, Sr. and William T. Brown, and son-in-law, Michael Taylor.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Karen Halstead Taylor, Mobile; two sons, Wade W. Halstead, Jr. and wife, Shirley, Little Rock, AR and Samuel W. Halstead and wife, JoAnn, Eufaula; a sister, Betty Anna Champion; four grandchildren, Wade W. Halstead, III (Andrea), Christy Halstead Wilson (Matt), Aaron Taylor and Rani Taylor.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jimmy Wood, Stanley Jones, Wayne Napier, Jeff Klimczak, Matt Wilson and Mark Jordan.
