Tommy “Carlos” Eldridge, age 74, of Ashford passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Born October 31, 1944 in Holmes County, Florida to the late William Eldridge and Bernice Gentry Eldridge, Tommy worked for over 40 years as a welder until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a family man. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Eldridge; his sisters, Sara Wright and Bonnie Dansby; and his brothers, Edward Eldridge and Randall Eldridge.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanette Eldridge; his sons, Tommy Wayne Eldridge (Kim), David Lamar Eldridge (Rena), and Richard Allen Eldridge; his daughter, Carla Diane Eldridge (Lewis Coleman, Jr.); 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother, Lenard Eldridge (Mary); his constant companion, his dog “Bear”; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in the Arguta Community in Dale County with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service.
