Tommy Lane Childers, age 69, of Midland City (formerly of Hamilton, AL), was born February 2, 1946 and passed away peacefully of natural causes, December 13, 2015 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center with his family by his side.


He was the son of the late Clovis and Rhea (Shotts) Childers of Hamilton, AL. He was the owner of Childers Home Repair of Midland City. Working and helping others was Tommy's passion. He had a kind and gentle soul and would help anyone in need. He loved being around his family and friends, Nascar, riding his motorcycle, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martha Childers.


Tommy is survived by his three children, Tijauna (Jessie) Clay, Wes Childers, and Tara (Peter) Turner, two grand-daughters, Ashtan Hicks and Aveley Turner, two very special friends: Lisa Preston and Savannah Turner and host of other great friends and co-workers.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Dean officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 in the chapel prior to the service.
