TONY TURNER
ABBEVILLE. . .Tony Turner, a resident of County Road 46, Abbeville, died Wednesday night, August 8, 2012, at his home. He was 54.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 11, 2012, in the Judson Baptist Church with Reverend Gerald Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.
Tony Turner was a native and lifelong resident of Henry County, near Abbeville. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Troy University in Dothan. Tony was employed by the U. S. Postal Service in Eufaula as a city letter carrier. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ila Bell Chancey Turner, his step-mother, Edna Turner and a brother, Foy Houston Deal. Tony was a member of the Judson Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Joan Sheffield Turner, Abbeville; two daughters, Raven Turner and Haleigh Turner, both of Abbeville; two sons, Brandon Turner and wife, Nicci, and Jason Turner and wife, Dawn, all of Abbeville; two step-sons, Chase Baker, Birmingham, and Paul Baker, Dothan; his father, Marvin Turner, Abbeville; two sisters, Janet Shadell and husband, Wayne, Abbeville; Peggy Harris and husband, James, Graceville, FL; two brothers, Lamar Turner and wife, Marilyn, and Andy Turner and wife, Brenda, all of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Tiffany Turner LaRoche and husband, Joshua, Marcus Turner, Heather Turner, Dylan Culp and Jordan Turner.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Chase Baker, Paul Baker, Chris Jones, Chris Turner, Clyde Kingry, Larry Hughes, Wayne Shadell and Clint Davis.
