TRACY  LEE  THORPE


 


GUYTON, GEORGIA. . .Tracy Lee Thorpe, a resident of Guyton, Georgia, died Friday afternoon, October 18, 2013, at his home. He was 57.


            Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 1:00 P.M. (C.D.T.) Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in the Old Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Newville, with Reverend Brandon Bures officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the services at the graveside.  


             In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Center United Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Priscilla Trawick, 4582 County Road 7, Newville, Alabama 36353.


            Mr. Thorpe was born in Redlands, California and was reared in various locations in the United States and was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery. He moved to Guyton, Georgia ten years ago. Mr. Thorpe was retired from the United States Air Force with rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement, he was employed by R C Construction Company as a Project Manager. Mr. Thorpe was a member of the Old Center United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louie Tharpe and Izora Tharpe Cutchens.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Katosha Thompson Thorpe, Guyton, GA; two daughters, Toni Thorpe, Pensacola, FL; and Alana Warren, Guyton, GA; two sons, Travis Thorpe, Lubbock, TX; and Tucker Thorpe, Crestview, FL; his parents, Louis and Billie Ratliff Thorpe, Newville, AL; a step-daughter, Kimberly Newsome, and a step-son, Richard (Bo) Newsome, both of Guyton, GA: two sisters, Tamera Trinkler (Bruno), Marlton, N.J.; and Treva Eddleman (James), Meridian, MS; a brother, Taron Thorpe (Tammy), Madison, AL; four grandchildren; maternal grandparents, Olan and Lena Williams, Newville; aunts, Juanita Tew, Inez Smith and Dale Ratliff, and an uncle, Larry Ratliff (Pat); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
