Mr. Travis Benjamin Grafton, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at his residence. He was 93 years old.
Funeral services in Alabama will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. CST in the chapel of Glover Funeral Home in Eufaula with Bro Gerald Carroll officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.
Funeral services in Georgia will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. EST at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cochran, Georgia with Bishop Ryan Davis officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Mr. Grafton will lie in state from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow in the Yearty cemetery.
Travis was born on September 2, 1931, in Bernice, Louisiana to the late Gideon Everett and Willie Bell Oxford Grafton. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech in 1959. Travis was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served four years during the Korean War as a Battleship Radio Operator and performed contract work for the Civil Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia until he retired at the age of 55. Travis also was a church custodian in Cochran, Georgia for six years. He was then a self-employed Electrical Engineer Contractor and retired at the age of 70. His special achievements include Scout Master of Troop 77 in Cochran, Georgia, Boy Scouts of America. He was a former member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cochran, Georgia and a current member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Eufaula, Alabama. He was also a member of the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association, and The American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife and mother of his children, Lola Merline Hinson; son, Paul Grafton and stepson, Danny Brown.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Dora King Moring Grafton; three sons, Everett Grafton of Dothan, Alabama, Matthew Grafton (Kristy) of Cochran, Georgia, and Mark Grafton of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Rhonda Mullis of Cochran, Georgia; stepdaughter, Connie Quillan of Delmar, Maryland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Steven Grafton, Alan Grafton, Joshua Grafton, David Grafton, Tyler Mullis, and Cody Corley.
