Shelby Mode “Trey” Seay, III, of Geneva, Alabama passed away suddenly Monday, May 07, 2012. He was 35.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Sam Totten and Rev. Randall Pearson officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, May 9, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Geneva Masonic Lodge #129 or the Shriners Hospital.
Trey was born December 28, 1976, in Enterprise. He was a 1995 graduate of Geneva High School and later pursued a career in avionics. At the time of his death he was employed at Fort Rucker as an avionic technician. He was very community minded and was a member of the Geneva Masonic Lodge #129, where he served as Worshipful Master for two years. He was also a Shriner. Trey loved hunting, fishing and was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” fan. He was a very loving and devoted son, brother, husband and father. He was a member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church.
His grandparents, Ray C. Jones and Mary Eunice Seay, great-grandparents, Robert and Bertha Blair, as well as his grandfather-in-law, Bobby Sheffield and his grandmother-in-law, Iris Knowles, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Stephanie Sheffield Seay; two children who were the light of his life: Shelby Kaleb Seay and Kyleigh Blair Seay; parents, Shelby and Linda Seay; grandmother, Mildred Jones, all of Geneva; two sisters: Krystal Diendre′ Seay, Samson and Melissa Dawn Brownell (Greg), Geneva; nephews: Ryan Tice, Joshua Brownell, Shane and Colby Sheffield; nieces: Taylor Brownell and Bailey Owens; special aunts: Faye Keeton (Alan), Camilla Conner, Sybil VanLandingham and Charlotte Driggers; mother-in-law, Bonita Bowers (Jerry); grandmother-in-law, Lela Sheffield; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen Sheffield and Nicole Dean; special friends: Jim Rose (Niki), Ricky Barton, Mike Cooke, Travis Tice, Bobby McAllister, Eric Wilson, Denny Wilson and Burley Thames; other extended family and a host of friends.
Masonic brothers will serve as pallbearers.
