HALEBURG…Trubie Garner Pitchford, of the Haleburg Community in Henry County, Alabama, died Friday, March 6, 2015, in her home. She was 92.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend Ray Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.
No flowers or memorials are requested.
Mrs. Pitchford, daughter of the late Henry J. Garner and Lora Phillips Garner, was born in Barbour County on July 29, 1922. She was the oldest member of the Haleburg Baptist Church, where she served as the pianist for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Pitchford, a granddaughter, Laura Hope Linton, and a brother, Argyl Garner.
Surviving relatives include daughter, Darryl Buie and her husband, James; son, Will H. Pitchford (Jane); daughter, Peggy Linton and her husband Wayne; grandchildren, Elizabeth Bray (Ryan), Rachael Friess (Ronnie), Jennifer Brister (Dave), Lawton Pitchford (Nicole), Ryan Buie and Mark Linton; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gladys Pitchford, Dothan; numerous nieces and nephews.
