CAPPS. . .Truette Hamm, a resident of the Capps Community of Henry County, died early Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 91.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, near Abbeville, with Reverend Henry Fullington and Reverend Hollis Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, c/o Henry Reynolds, 3945 County Road 40, Newville, AL 36353.

Mr. Hamm was born and reared in Henry County, near the Tumbleton Community, son of the late Albert Victor Ham and Addie Lou Jones Ham. He served his country in the U. S. Army. Mr. Hamm lived in the Capps Community most of his adult lifetime. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from Ft. Rucker as a Generator and Fire Alarm Technician. Mr. Hamm was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Hamm, three sisters, Faye Day, Juliette White and Sybil Peak, and two brothers, Dwain Ham and Orvis Hamm.

Surviving relatives include his wife of 66 years, Mary Singletary Hamm, a daughter, Becky Hamm Johnson (Ray), Moscow, TN; two grandchildren, Allen Norton (Jennifer), and Jeff Norton (Tara); two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
