Velma Lee Bullard

Lee settled in Cottonwood, Alabama, where she raised her children. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a caregiver—a testament to her boundless compassion. Lee's work was not just a job; it was a reflection of her innate desire to help and nurture those around her.

A lover of the great outdoors, Lee found joy in camping, boating, and tending to her garden, where she cultivated many different flowers. Her home in the country was her sanctuary, and she shared that love of nature with her animals, especially her cherished horses and dogs. Lee's heart, however, truly belonged to her family. She was the rock upon which they built their lives, offering unwavering support and an encouraging word to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Lee's legacy is carried on by her beloved children, Chris (Sarah) Griffin, Jennifer (Phillip) Snider, Jason Griffin, and Dustin (Summer) Ingram. Her grandchildren, Adam Barr, Dylan Barr, Easton Snider, Emma Griffin, Cade Griffin, and Caroline Ingram, brought her immeasurable joy, as did her great-grandchild, Landon Barr. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley “Gigi” Bullard and by her brother, Buddy Bullard, whose memories she held dear.

Her life was one of many firsts, many of which she experienced while traveling with her family. Lee's sense of adventure and willingness to embrace new experiences made her the "Cool Grandma," a title she wore with pride and a twinkle in her eye. Her faith played a significant role in her life, and she was a devoted member of the Methodist Church in Cottonwood, where her faith-filled spirit touched many.

Lee approached life with a faith that could move mountains and a heart that saw the best in everyone. As Mother Teresa once said, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Lee embodied this sentiment, leaving behind a legacy of small acts of kindness that together created a tremendous impact on her community and family.

As we say goodbye to Velma "Lee" Bullard, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. She was a light in the lives of those she touched, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. Lee's story is not one of an end but a beautiful reminder of the power of love and the importance of family. Her spirit will forever be a guide for us, as we cherish the memories and continue to live by the example she set.
