Verline Childree, a lifelong resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday morning, December 23, 2017 at Dale Medical Center. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Peters and Rev. Farrell Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 1-2 on Wednesday prior to service time.
Mrs. Childree was born March 11, 1927 in Dale County where she lived all of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and tending to her chickens. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Childree was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord.
She is predeceased by her parents, Alf and Katie Danner Baker and husband, Elder Norris Childree.
She is survived by her son, Wallace Childree (Tammy) of Ozark; her daughters, Faye Sizemore (Floyd) of Ozark and Debra Garner (Willis) of Ouzinkie, AK; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Nell Childree, Sarah Roberts, Dwight Baker, Jimmy Baker and Jay Baker; a sister-in-law, Sally Leatherwood; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
