KNOXVILLE, MARYLAND. . .Vickie Carol Prince, a resident of Knoxville, Maryland, formerly of the Echo Community in Dale County, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, in a Frederick, Maryland hospital. She was 61.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
Vickie Prince was born in Fulton County, Georgia. She lived in the Echo Community before moving to Knoxville, Maryland with her significant other, Tim Leland, in 2012. Vickie was formerly employed as the Operating Manager of Waffle King in Ozark. In earlier years, she worked at WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville. Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Thurston Prince, her mother, Ruth Trawick Buckner, her step-father, Jesse Buckner, and two brothers, Thurston Lavon Prince and Thomas V. Buckner.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Kellie Doswell Taylor (Jeremy), and a son, Ritchard W. Doswell, all of Headland; two sisters, Joyce Gohagan, Echo Community; and Renee McMenamin (Patrick), Ozark; three grandchildren, Austin Doswell (Hannah), Kaitlyn Doswell (Preston Scott), and Lexy Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Adalyne Scott, Kaiston Scott and Easton Scott.
