COLUMBIA. . .Victoria Ann “Vickey” Bristow, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday night, April 14, 2018, at her home. She was 62.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Apri1 17, 2018, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Freeman and Reverend Mark Bristow officiating. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery with honors to be rendered by the Dothan Fire Department. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.

Vickey Bristow was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and was reared in Dothan, daughter of the late Sid David Lynn and Wauneta June Wurtzg Lynn. She was a 1974 graduate of Dothan High School. Vickey graduated as a Paramedic from the Wallace College Emergency Medical Program. She was certified as a Firefighter through the Alabama State Fire College. Vickey maintained her National Registry as an E.M.T. Paramedic for thirty-one years. She retired from the Dothan Fire Department as a Firefighter and Paramedic and was the first female Firefighter for the City of Dothan. Vickey taught C.P.R., First Aid and Basic E.M.T. in the Wiregrass area. She served as a member of the Columbia Ambulance Rescue Emergency Squad for thirty-five years. She volunteered as a Paramedic with the Slocomb Fire & Rescue for the last three years. Vickey was an active member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church where she served as Music Director and as a Youth Sunday School teacher.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Johnnie Gill Bristow; a daughter, Trinity Ingram-Jones (Zane), Richmond Hill, GA; a son, Daniel Bristow (Sherri), Dothan; a sister, Sue Maddox (Don), Midland City; and a brother, Jimmy Lynn (Patty), Mobile, AL; three grandchildren, Brandon Hovey, Gabe Ingram and Segrest Bristow.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Taylor Lee, Kaleb Snell, Mark Powell, Tim Hartzell, Angus Scott and John Penn.
Vickey will be honored with a fire department funeral procession that will leave the funeral home at 11:45 A.M. Tuesday to Camp Springs Baptist Church.
