Violet Jane Murray, 93, of Daleville passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Enterprise Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held 10 am Friday, August 24, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Daleville with Frank Moore officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the S.O.S. Animal Shelter, 25944 Highway 134, Enterprise, AL, 36330.

Mrs. Murray was born December 9, 1918 in Saginaw, MI and lived there the early part of her life. She was a homemaker and later employed as a high school assistant in Charleston, SC. She moved to Daleville in 2008. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by a daughter Jenny Stuart.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years Harold Murray of Daleville; son Wayne H. (Lisa Bailey) Murray of Daleville; grandchildren, Judith Mason, Paul Murray, Robert (Lita) Murray, and Kimberly Bowen; great-grandchildren, Jessica Pharris, Morgan James Murray, Matthew David Murray, and Dulce Bowen; a brother Arthur Schulz of Rockford, IL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
