 Vira Lee Andrews

Vira Lee Dozier Andrews, age 88, a former resident of Dothan, entered into eternal rest May 28, 2013 in Anstonia, CT.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie F. Morris and Minister Bruce Goldson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the family plot in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time.

She was born Feb. 9, 1925 in Midland County, Alabama, daughter of the late Charlie and Estella Edwards Dozier. Vira was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Ansonia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. Andrews and a son, Henry P. Andrews, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Faye Lynette Andrews Goldson and her husband Bruce of Ansonia, CT; her sister, Gussie Dozier of Orlando, FL, her daughter-in-law, Celia Brown Andrews of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, James, Chasity, Sparkle, Kiah, Bruce III and Vira; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
