Virgil “Pete” Robinette, a resident of Taylor, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Signature Health Nursing Home in Graceville after a long illness. He was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Keener Batchelor officiating. A private burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Robinette was born December 11, 1925 in Dale County, Alabama and lived the early years of his life there. He also lived in South Florida for 25 years before moving back to Dothan and retiring from the Florida Highway Department.
Mr. Robinette was preceded in death by his wife, Ion Robinette; his parents, Charlie and Cecil Preston Robinette; his brothers, Gene Robinette and Fred Robinette; his sister, Sybil Bell; and his nephew, Phillip Bell.
Survivors include his sisters, Peggy Taylor and Betsy Campbell; his sister-in-law, Helen Robinette; two nephews; four nieces; several great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive flowers or memorials may be made to New Life Church, 964 N Park Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303 where he was a member for many years.
