VIRGINIA ANN TEW

HEADLAND… Virginia Ann Tew, a resident of the Headland, Alabama, passed away early Sunday morning, January 21, 2024, at her home. She was 78.

          Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Scott Wyatt and Reverend Sam White officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is charge of the arrangements.

           In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Concord Baptist Church, c/o Janara Parrish, 1350 CR-14, Newville, Alabama 36353.

          Mrs. Tew was born in Headland, Alabama to the late Raymond Edward McGriff and Mary Lena Faison McGriff. She lived in Headland, Alabama her entire life. She was a 1963 graduate of Headland High School. She helped with the family business, Fred’s BBQ, until her passing.

          Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Omagene Scott and her brother, Joel Whitehead.

          Leaving to cherish her memories is her husband, Freddy Tew; her sons, Michael Tew (Sherri), Brent Tew (Anna), and Brian Tew (April); her brother, Billy McGriff; her grandchildren, Asia Black (Stephen), Shawn Tew (Tristen), Samantha Gresham (Don), Morgan Johnson (Zach), and Sydnie Tew; her great-grandchildren, Roman Black, Emma Gresham, Don Gresham, and LoLo Johnson; and a special friend, Ciara Cohen.

          Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Tew, Brent Tew, Brian Tew, Shawn Tew, Anthony Luhn, and Lynn Henderson.
