Virginia Warnette (Morris) Lancaster, of Dothan died May 17, 2020 at Terrace at Grove Park. She was 92.


She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lancaster was born Sept. 27, 1927 in Daleville, AL and lived there until meeting and marrying Bob Lancaster, who was stationed at Ft Rucker, in 1951. Over the next 15 years Warnette and Bob were stationed across the U.S. and overseas in Tehran, Iran. In 1966, upon Bob’s retirement from the US Army, they settled in Dothan, AL where she continued employment with the Federal Civil Service at Ft. Rucker, AL. She retired from Civil Service in 1988 after serving 29 years. She and Bob owned and operated Northside Food Store from 1978 to 1982. Mrs. Lancaster was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.


Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Lancaster, her son Michael W. Lancaster, and her grandson, Michael Luke Lancaster; and brothers Dan Morris, Bill Morris and Warren Morris.
