Vivian Elaine Vinson Bowden, a resident of Louisville, Alabama died April 17, 2023. She was 77 years old.

Memorial services will be held April 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Louisville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Whitman and Rev. Ronald Jernigan officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: Legacy of Hope-Organ & Tissue Donation Alliance 502 20^th St. South Birmingham, Alabama 35233.

Vivian was born January 31, 1946, to Merrill and Carrie Mae Morgan Vinson of Louisville, Alabama. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1964 and received her BS, MS, and EDS degree from Auburn University. Mrs. Bowden taught home economics in Pike and Dale County Schools until her retirement from the Alabama State Department of Education.

She married Robert Leon Bowden from Brundidge, Alabama in 1968. They are the parents of three children, Daniel Vinson Bowden (Laura) of Slocomb, Alabama, Matthew Morgan Bowden (Holly) of Shannon, Alabama, and Emily Claire Bowden of Louisville, Alabama. They are also the proud grandparents of five grandchildren, Ameila Claire Bowden of Louisville, Alabama, Morgan Louis Bowden and Mason Matthew Bowden of Shannon, Alabama, and Thomas Jefferson Bowden and Erin Victoria Bowden of Slocomb, Alabama.

Mrs. Bowden enjoyed flowers- her favorites being Gerber daisies and tulips, crocheting, and loved her beloved dogs and cats.
