 OZARK…Voncile Hatcher Lambert, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday evening, August 14, 2018, in an Enterprise hospital. She was 93.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 17, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with her son-in-law, Jack Hyde, II officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway, Suite, 2, Dothan, Alabama 36303.


            Mrs. Lambert, daughter of the late Leslie H Hatcher and Ella Elizabeth Pirkle Hatcher, was a native of Hartford, Alabama. She graduated from Coffee County High School and was married in 1945. After her first husband Tommie passed away, she raised their daughter, Sandra, worked full time and found love again when she met Eugene Lambert. They were married on June 25, 1966 and built a life and family together with each of their daughters, Sandra and Janice. There was not a week that went by that she was not cooking for a big group or planning the next Eastern Star event.  She loved to cook for her friends, family and especially her grandchildren.  She retired after thirty-three years working with civilian contractors at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Mrs. Lambert was very active in the Eastern Star and a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Tommie Kilpatrick and Eugene Lambert, (SFC, US Army Retired), a sister, Hazel Fonteneot, and a brother, Alvin E. Hatcher.


            Surviving relatives include her daughters, Sandra DeCaria, New Waterford, OH and Janice Hyde (Jack), San Angelo, TX; grandchildren, Beth DeCaria Dewell (Mike), New Waterford, OH; Sam DeCaria, Rockville, MD; Nick DeCaria, Phoenix, AZ; Molly Hyde Bush (Jeremy) and Josh Hyde (Jessyca), both of Lantana, TX; her twin sister, Lucille Austin, Warren, OH; sister, Annette Caskey, Enterprise, AL; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.


            The family would like to thank the Hall 4 Nurses, doctors and staff of Medical Center Enterprise and to Covenant Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
