Mrs. Voncille Griffin Jackson, formerly a resident of Cottonwood, AL passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020. A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In addition to her parents, Mattie and Wright Griffin, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Bush and her husband, Harvey Edwin “Edd” Jackson.


She and Mr. Jackson owned L & J Studio for over 35 years and during that time photographed many weddings, anniversaries,baseball teams, and students. During her career, Mrs. Jackson was a master photographer and bookkeeper, and helped her husband run their business. She was also a very talented artist and was still creating beautiful oil paintings right up until the time of her death. Mrs. Jackson lived and very long and productive life. After her husband’s death, she volunteered with hospice, creating crafts to be sold to raise funds and sitting with terminally ill patients to give their caregivers time to run errands and rest. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cottonwood.



Survivors include her great nieces, Melanie (Kevin) Woodcock of Dothanand Lisa (Carl) Boulding of Raiford, FL, her great-great nieces Bethany (Matt) Fields of Tuscaloosa, Arianne (Donald) Martin of Jacksonville, FL,Carissa (James) Bentley of Sanford, FL, her great-great nephews Caleb Woodcock of Dothan, Josh Woodcock of Wake Forest, NC, and Zayne Tice of Starke, FL, and six great-great-great nieces and nephews.
