OZARK…. Mr. Waldo Lee Reed, a resident of Ozark, died Friday afternoon, May 24, 2019 in Dale Medical Center. He was 87.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bobby Peters officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Sherry Bonds.


            Flowers will be accepted.


            Mr. Reed, son of the late Tiberius Reed and Emma Beatrice Reed, was a native of Egeria, West Virginia and grew up in Reedtown, West Virginia. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army. Following his service in the Army, he returned to West Virginia and began working for Georgia Pacific where he later retired. Mr. Reed moved to Ozark in 1995 and was a member of Harvest Free Will Baptist Church in Ozark. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Andrews, Virginia Beamon, Madeline Adkins, and Corda Hill; two brothers, Arnold Reed and Elza Reed.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-five years, Nettie June Reed, Ozark; his daughter, Sherry Bonds (Gerald), Ozark; granddaughter, Amber Jardno (Jason); two great-grandchildren, Gavin Jardno and Kylee Jardno; nieces and nephews, George Bernard Adkins (Cathy), Paul Adkins (Vada), Anthony Reed, Pauline McKinney and Shirley Forbes.
