MIDLAND CITY. . .Walter Howard “Walt” Johnson, a resident of Dale County, between Headland & Echo, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, February 13, 2022, in the Dale Medical Center in Ozark. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Brother Harvey Windham officiating and eulogies to be given by his biker friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the mortuary. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.
Walt Johnson was born and reared in Demossville, Kentucky, son of the late Clifford Johnson and Florence Work Johnson. He formerly lived in Kissimmee, Florida and Kentucky and also Headland before moving to near the Echo Community in 2016. Walt was retired from Primus of Ft. Rucker. In earlier years, he was employed as a truck driver. Walt was an avid motorcycle rider. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Johnson, a sister, Brenda Johnson and three brothers, Larry Johnson, Jimmy Johnson and Leroy Johnson.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Roxie Wilkerson Johnson, seven daughters, Tracey Johnson (Mark), Wendy Johnson, Misty Johnson, Brandy Johnson, Tina Clark, Star Clark and Heather Fillmore; five sons, Jake Johnson, Brent Clark, Joey Clark (Brittany), Nathan Boyett and Coye Boyett; two sisters, Mary Anglin and Connie Johnson, and a brother, Tony Johnson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his biker family.
