 Walter Lee Knight a resident of  Taylor died  Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 80.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Byrd and Pastor Lyle Peluso officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, February 24, 2012. Flowers will be accepted.


 


Mr. Knight was born May 6, 1931, in Geneva County, Alabama, the son of Scott William and Lela Lee Holley Knight.


 


He is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Shelbey Leigh Knight, two brothers, William Steavy Knight and James Doffie Knight, two sisters, Lula Luverne Smith and Myrtle Louise Mertes, father and mother –in-law, Reverend J.T. and Mamie Peacock.


 


Survivors include his wife, Joan Peacock Knight of Taylor; two sons, Terry Lee Knight and his wife, Kim of Midland City; Timothy Brett Knight and his wife, Carolyn of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Holley Elizabeth Knight and Casey Brett Knight both of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Hortie Mae Jones of Cowarts; Margaret Eloise Granger of Birmingham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sarah Hodges of Slocomb; Sue Knight of Rehobeth; Opal and Bob Smith of El Paso, TX; Harold and Merle Peacock of Gainsville, VA; Billy and Kathy Peacock of Hartford; Sarah and Don Hatcher of Wicksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
