ARITON… Mrs. Wavie Tyler Hartzog, a resident of Ariton, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, February 16, 2019 in an Ozark nursing home. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jamie Hattaway officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be the donor’s favorite charity.
Mrs. Hartzog, daughter of the late William Martin Tyler and Jennie Jackson Tyler, was a native and lifelong resident of Ariton. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Clarence Edsel Hartzog; six sisters, Mavis Garner, Bonnie Ruth Baker, Mary Shehane, Oree Shipman, Naomi Laney and Kathleen Tyler; three brothers, Cecil Tyler, E.J. Tyler and Lewie Tyler.
Surviving relatives include her son, Mike Hartzog (Debra), Pensacola, FL; her twin sister, Ouida Sasser, Ozark; granddaughter, Angela Weatherford; grandson, Jason Hartzog; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Wanda Money (Mack), Ariton.
The family would like to thank her niece, Wanda Money and her daughter, Donna, for the love and care shown to Mrs. Hartzog during her illness.
