Wayne Edward Henderson of Black, AL passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was 73 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Rev. Wesley Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Adoniram Cemetery in Black, AL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. 

Mr. Henderson was born in Graceville, FL on May 24, 1950. Wayne worked and retired after 25 years of dedicated service as a Firefighter at Ft. Rucker. At the time of his retirement, he was serving as a Lieutenant. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, and working on anything that had a motor.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ray “Bill” Henderson.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lynne Henderson of Black, AL; one son, Casey Henderson (Tammy) of Black, AL; step-daughter, Rochelle Wise of Geneva, AL; mother, Willa Dean Brannon Watson of Graceville, FL; three grandchildren, Ally Henderson, Evan Wise (Bethany), and Eden Thompson all of Black, AL; one sister, Cindi Childree (Mike) of Bonifay, FL; one brother, Jimmy Forsyth (Wendy) of Graceville, FL; three nephews, Scott Reid (Emily), Hunter Forsyth (Magen), and Hudson Forsyth (Cassie); one niece Amy Huggins (Micheal).
