Wayne William Gregor, Sr. of Enterprise, sadly left us on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Wayne was born on June 21, 1948 to William B. and Marie J. Gregor in Homestead, Pennsylvania.
After Wayne graduated from Homestead Senior High School in 1966 he attended Duquesne University and later graduated from Prince George’s Community College. He was a table tennis champion at both colleges.
He enlisted in May 1969, completed basic training and data processing machine operator school and was then assigned to Andrews AFB in Maryland where he stayed until his Honorable Discharge in May 1975 as a Staff Sergeant. Wayne was Base Tennis Table Champion several times during his time at Andrews AFB.
After leaving the Air Force he worked in IT. His hobbies during this time were playing softball and volleyball.
He retired in 2016 after working for more than 25 years as a Senior Computer Programmer for Compuware Corporation. In retirement Wayne enjoyed collecting baseball cards and Corvettes and traveling.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Karin Stokes Gregor and was preceded in death by his son Wayne Edward Gregor. He leaves behind his daughter Jeanne Gregor, her husband Spence Spencer, his son Wayne William Gregor, Jr., his wife Carlie Sears, his step-daughters Rebecca (Becky) Fischer, her husband Michael, Elizabeth (Betsy) Channell, her husband Brian, his grandchildren Elizabeth (Lizzie) Gregor, Edward Spencer and Lois Spencer, his step-granddaughters Madison Fischer, Harleigh Fischer and Kylie Channell.
He will be missed by his friends and all who knew him and by his 3 dogs and 2 cats.
