Willadene Gilmore of Chancellor, AL passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015. She was 102. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Johnny Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sardis United Methodist Church, c/o Betty Griffith, 288 N. Railroad St., Coffee Springs, AL 36318.
Mrs. Gilmore was born in Geneva County, AL on April 8, 1913 to the late John Duncan and Ola Vaughan Wilson. She was a longtime and faithful member at Sardis United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. Her husband, S. Malory Gilmore; two daughters, Judith Ann and Joan Carroll Gilmore; grandson, Randy Glenn Emmett, II; and three of her four siblings preceded her in death.
She is survived by five children, John Gilmore (Eva) of Grapeland, TX, Jack Gilmore of Jack, AL, Don Gilmore (Ann), Dale Emmett (Randy Glenn, Sr.), all of Chancellor and Iris Koveleskie (Robert) of Sebring, FL; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sister, Mariola Robinson of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Wiregrass Nursing Home for surrounding Mrs. Gilmore with all of their love and care.
