OZARK…. Mr. William B. “Billy” Andrews, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday evening, January 17, 2019 in an Ozark nursing home. He was 84.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Reverend Harold Peters officiating. A private interment will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, near Skipperville. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and food, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 720295, Oklahoma City, OK 73172-0295.
Mr. Andrews, son of the late Benjamin Ray Andrews, Jr. and Winnie L. Peacock Andrews, was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County. He was formerly employed with his brother in the operation of Homer’s Radiator Shop in Ozark. Mr. Andrews was retired due to disability from the City of Ozark Street Department. He served in the Army National Guard, Ozark, and was activated during the Berlin Crisis. Mr. Andrews was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter; a sister, Patricia Clark and a brother, Buddy Andrews.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Jewel Segars Andrews, Ozark; a daughter, Phyllis Elaine Hudgins; a son, Timothy Scott Andrews; a step-daughter, Tammy Martin (Barry), Skipperville; two sisters, Jeanette Strickland, Ozark and Sue Stuckey (Bob), Opp; two brothers, Homer Andrews, Ozark and Reverend Terriel Andrews (Mary Ellen), Bells Crossroads Community; sister-in-law, Doris Andrews; several grandchildren; special friend and caretaker, Glenn Johnson, Ozark;
