DOTHAN. . .William Clenney “Bill” Owens, a resident of Dothan, died late Friday night, April 14, 2023, at his home. He was 96.
Private graveside services for the family will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, April 17, 2023, in Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Allie Freeman officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s of Alabama, 1600 7th Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35233.
Mr. Owens was born and reared near Lawrenceville in Henry County, son of the late Walter Averette Owens and Omie Clenney Owens. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dothan. Mr. Owens retired from Chapman Building Systems as a Salesman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Daughtry Owens, a son, William Clenney “Chip” Owens, an infant daughter, a great-grandson, Blake Keeler, a sister, Alice Brassell and a brother, Sammy Owens.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Ellen Bowman (Jamie), a son, Kevin Owens (Wanda), all of Dothan; grandchildren, Katie Bowman, Emily Stanley (Eric), Trent Owens (Kaci), and Angela Fulford, great-grandchildren, Landon Owens, Courtney Fulford, Conner Fulford, Brayden Stanley, Layla Stanley, Ayden English, Skye English and L.A. English; several nieces and nephews.
