William David Blackmon, 64, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, August 1, 2015, at a Dothan hospital.


Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 pm Wednesday.


Mr. Blackmon was born in Ozark on February 13, 1951 to the late Paul Blackmon and Doris Whittington Blackmon. Throughout his life he worked as a mechanic and also in paint and body work. He later owned and operated Blackmon’s Towing and Recovery of Ozark.  David attended Corinth Free Will Baptist Church.  He cherished his family and friends and devoted his life to them, especially to his grandchildren.  


David is survived by his wife, Rebecca Quattlebaum Blackmon of Ozark; Daughters, Lisa Blackmon of Lakeland, FL. and Casey Edwards of Midland City; Sons, William Bartow Blackmon of Dothan, Mark Blackmon of Malvern, and Leo Edwards of Geneva; Brothers, Jimmy (Victoria) of Ozark and Allen (Susie) Norsworthy of Echo; and grandchildren, Darin, Dustin, Shelby, Jessica, Summer, Jay and Josh; several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Scott and Amanda Dickerson, Steve Woodard and Steve Stevens.
