SHORTERVILLE. . .William David Blair, a resident of Shorterville, died early Friday morning, November 25, 2022, at his home. He was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 28, 2022, in the Haleburg Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Shorterville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Haleburg Baptist Church, 1239 Main Street, Columbia, AL 36319.
Mr. Blair was born in Knox County, Tennessee, son of the late William Oscar Blair and Mary Jane Reagan Blair. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He lived in Henry County, between Haleburg and Shorterville, most of his lifetime. Mr. Blair was a member of the Haleburg Baptist Church. He was retired from Farmer’s Tire in Abbeville. In earlier years, he was employed as a carpenter. Mr. Blair was preceded in death by a son, Oscar Lamar Blair, sisters, Lerenda Lane and Shelby Jean Branch.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Ila Chambers Blair, a daughter, Candy Harper, Grimes; two sisters, Jeanette Holland (Ernie), Lafollette, TN; and Norene Blair (Rhonda Branch), Maryville, TN; four brothers, Leroy Blair (Mary), Knoxville, TN; and Tony Blair (Janet), Maryland; and Lynn Reagan (Joann) and Johnny Regan (Laura) Grandchildren, Rebecca, Kristena, Taylor, Michael, Randi, Allyson, Austin, Jacob, Matthew, Kelsey, David, Christian and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Kyla and Elara; a daughter-in-law, Shanna Wilkerson Blair.
