ABBEVILLE. . .William Franklin “Corky” Burch, Jr., a resident of Abbeville, died Thursday, February 16, 2023, at his home. He was 64.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 20, 2023, in the Judson Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.
Mr. Burch was born in Montgomery and was reared in Hartford, Alabama. He lived in Abbeville most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Burch received a certificate from Wallace College Sparks Campus in Small Motor Mechanics and also a certificate in Automobile Mechanics. He was retired, due to disability, as a Foreman with Trevicos at the Walter F. George Lock & Dam at Ft. Gaines. Mr. Burch was preceded in death by his father, William Franklin Burch, Sr., his mother, Lola Mae Williams Moore, his step-father, Donald Lee Moore, Sr. and a sister, Patricia Ann Cox.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Belinda Faircloth Burch, a daughter, Jessica Burch, a son, Jeremy Burch, two sisters, Dorothy Bailey, Abbeville; and Frankie Harpe (Byron), of Texas; a brother, Donald Moore (Fran), DesMoines, Iowa; three grandchildren, Monica Burch, Alex Burch and Jada Burch; a great-grandson, Clay Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
