WILLIAM G. “BILLY” ATWOOD


KINSEY…William G. “Billy” Atwood, a resident of Kinsey, died Saturday morning, November 23, 2019, at his mother’s home. He was 62.


            Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at the Wright Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Sam White and Reverend Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Kinsey Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday before the service.


            Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in his honor to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Hwy Unit 2  Dothan, Alabama 36303.


            Mr. Atwood was born in Columbia, South Carolina to his late father, Bill Troy Atwood, and his mother Myra Faye Jarvis Atwood.  Billy was a graduate of the Headland High School Class of 1976. He worked with Miles Ford Tractor Company and most recently with Dothan Outdoor Equipment as an assembly / delivery mechanic. His favorite passion was keeping up the family acreage by keeping it bush hogged with his grandfathers, Ford 801 Power Master Tractor.


            Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughter, Wendy Atwood (Terry Wells); a son, Nathan Atwood (Krystal); his mother, Myra Faye Atwood; a sister, Debbie Reneau (Charles); a brother Kenny Atwood (Linda); Three Grandchildren; all of Kinsey; and several nieces and nephews.


            The family wants to extend a special thank you to Donna Mitchell (SouthernCare Hospice Nurse) for her kind and going above and beyond her duties to take diligent care of Billy through his illness.
