William Harold “Buck” Temples


William Harold “Buck” Temples, age 72 of Ashford died Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2018, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.


Funeral services for Buck will be held at 1pm Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the Family First Funeral Care Chapel with Reverend Brenda Yon and Reverend Daniel Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Church Cemetery, Pansey, with Family First Funeral Care directing. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Monday night, February 26 at Family First Funeral Care, 965 Woodland Drive, Dothan.


Buck was born December 25, 1945 in Henry County to the late John and Eula Mae Smith Temples. He worked for almost 20 years with the Houston County Road and Bridge Department driving a Low Boy delivering heavy equipment. When he was not working, Buck enjoyed riding his scooter into town and watching the traffic in Ashford. He was known as the “Peanut Man” because of his ability to boil peanuts so well and enjoyed sitting on his back porch, just to let time pass by. Buck will be greatly missed by his family because he was such a wonderful and loving husband, father, grand father and great-grand father and enjoyed spending time with his family every chance he could.


In addition to his parents, Buck is preceded in death by a son, Willie Temples, six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his loving wife, Erma Bearry Temples; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Pam Temples, Jason and Jennie Temples; five grandchildren, Erin and her husband, Daniel Merritt, Blake and his wife, Maygan Temples, Kaylee Temples, Rachel Raybon and Jaidyn Temples; three great-grand children, Stella Merritt, Austin Temples and Liberty Merritt; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
