William Herman Smith, Sr.
William Herman Smith, Sr, 80, of Ozark, AL, passed away January 17, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chad Teal officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge, AL with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Smith was born on January 13, 1938 to the late Barton and Bonnie Maude Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Bridlewood Chapel. He was employed with Carroll’s Heating and Cooling and later worked for the Ozark Country Club in grounds maintenance. He was a member of several classic car clubs and loved showing his ’27 Model T, ’29 Whippet and ’46 Ford. Mr. Smith was a 1958 graduate of Pike County High School and enjoyed gathering with his former classmates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Mary Jo Sheets and Annie Maude Rogers.
Mr. Smith leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Bill Smith and wife Joanie, sister, Bonnie Lynn Kennedy and husband Ronald, grandchildren; Cherie Smith Humphrey and husband Matt, Laura-Ashley Smith Bynum and husband Mason, grandson, John North and wife Nikki, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, special friend, Linda Gayle Smith and several nieces and nephews.
