Mr. William L. Gallimore passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his residence surrounded by family. He was 80.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 15, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. A private graveside service will follow at a later date at the VFW cemetery in Cornelia, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00pm and continuing until service time.
Mr. Gallimore was born May 18, 1935 in Sipsey, Alabama to the late Samuel and Daisy Ann Swan Gallimore. In addition to his parents, eight siblings preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Grant Reeves VFW Post Cemetery at 1492 Smith Loop Road, Demorest Georgia 30535.
Mr. Gallimore served his country in the United States Army where he would retire after 20 years of service. While serving he served two tours in Vietnam, the Korean War and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medals, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne Gallimore, Ozark; two daughters, Monika Nix (Ray), Cornelia, Georgia, Sandra Renee, Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Jean Pree, Dothan Alabama; three grandchildren: Johnathan Demuth (Lucinda), Jennifer Bolin (Glenn), Libby Smith (Greg); three great-grandchildren: Emmy Bolin, Carter Smith, Claire Smith.
