William Ryan Brunson, 26, of Ashford passed away Monday February 23, 2015 at a local hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday February 25, 2015 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening February 24, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsey Police Department, 6947 Walden Drive, Kinsey, AL 36303.

Ryan was born August 8, 1988 in Houston County and lived the early years of his life in Pansey, where he helped his daddy farm in the afternoons after school. He was a 2006 graduate of Ashford Academy. Following his graduation, Ryan was employed with Higgins Electric and later with the Ashford Police Department where they helped him graduate from the Police Academy in Selma, Alabama, he was also a graduate of the Alabama Fire College, and was a volunteer with the Lucy Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Houston County Rescue, where he was on the Swift Water Rescue Team. Ryan was employed full time with All-Pro Distributing and part time with the Kinsey Police Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and touched many lives in his 26 short years. He will forever be missed. Ryan was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Williams, Betty and Bobby Mathis, Sherman and Mae Brunson and by his cousin Mike Howard.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Brunson; his step-daughter, Summer Dunham; his parents, Neal and Cathy Brunson; his step-brother, David (Michelle) Brunson and his niece, Caitlynn Brunson; his father and mother-in-law, Charles (Wanda) Collins; his brother-in-law, Dwayne Collins and his very special friend, Melissa Egnew; his grandmother-in-law, Gladys Corbin; his aunts and uncles, Ronnie (Yvette) Williams, Charles (Kat) Brunson, and Ann (Larry) Ford; his cousins, Ronnie Williams, Jr., Jared Brunson, Caleb Brunson, Blair and JoAnna Howard, Chris Johnson, and Seth and Jake Johnson; numerous friends including, Matt Brady, Hubert Davis, Tony Money, Ken Bennett, Thomas Hurst, and Joe Hodges.
