William Wayne Easom, Sr., age 82, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services for Mr. Easom will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, GA with Dr. Calvin Arnold, Dr. Ron McCaskill, and Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Farish Mulkey, Herman Enfinger, Mike Moulton, Ricky Moulton, Larry Harrell, and Johnny McMullen serving as active casketbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church and their wives. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, December 5, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Easom was born in Donalsonville, GA on October 19, 1932 to William Rufus Easom and Jewell Opal Moulton Easom. He was engaged in farming and self-employed in the peanut industry for many years. Mr. Easom was a Past President of the Donalsonville Lions Club, a Past President of the Seminole County Farm Bureau and was still a member of that organization’s Board of Directors. He was a member of First Baptist Church Donalsonville where he was a part of the Friends Sunday School Class and a Deacon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Laura Lane Easom of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Elaine Easom Yorong and her husband Lorenzo of Daleville, AL and Carol Easom of Donalsonville, GA; four sons, Alan Pearce and his wife Nena of Jakin, GA, Mike Pearce of Iron City, GA, Clark Pearce of Donalsonville, GA, and Todd Pearce of Jakin, GA; and a sister, Patty VanWyck and her husband Mike of Macon, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Easom of Tallahassee, FL, Christy Pritchard of Donalsonville, GA, Lauren Pearce of Brinson, GA, Gaines Pearce of Athens, GA, Allison Pearce of Jakin, GA, Alana Pearce of Valdosta, GA, Jerry Pearce of Jakin, GA, and Clay Pearce of Bainbridge, GA; as well as two great-grandchildren, Paul Hornsby of Iron City, GA and Will Pritchard of Donalsonville, GA. Other survivors include, a nephew, Rusty VanWyck and his wife Kate of Macon, GA; a niece, Kelly Smith and her husband Robert of Macon, GA; two great nieces, Emsley and Elizabeth Smith of Macon, GA; three sisters-in-law, Merle Davis(Hunter) of Colquitt, GA, Donna Lane of Iron City, GA, and Alice Lane of Colquitt, GA; an aunt, Mandy Williams of Marietta, GA; and two uncles, Kenneth Moulton of Iron City, GA and Robert Forrest of Donalsonville , GA; as well as his best friends, “Lillie” and “Woof”.
Mr. Easom was preceded in death by his parents, William Rufus Easom and Jewell Opal Moulton Easom; and a son, William Easom.
