William “Will” Earl Dykes, a resident of Dothan, passed away January 31, 2021. He was 76 years old.
A private funeral service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert "Bo" Grice officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to The Ark at 475 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Will was born December 25, 1944 to the late William Isaac and Mary Sue Dykes. Will was a truck driver since the age of 19. He was a talented mechanic and loved working with his hands. Will was dedicated to helping those in need and found joy in gathering cans. He took pride in being “Paw Paw” and “Pops” and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Will was a kind, loving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Will was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Emma Dykes; and his brother, Jimmy Dykes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 and a half years, Bobbie Dykes; his five children, Sheila (Mark) Phillips, Bobby (Kathy) Dykes, Michael (Yvette) Dykes, Tracey Stephens, and Kenneth (Stella) Stephens; his nine grandchildren, Allan Parrish, Miranda Driskell, Hilary Dykes, Michael Dykes, Bradley Dykes, Britney Dykes, Gabe Stephens, Lilly Stephens, and Annie Stephens; his sister, Betty Waters; a special sister-in-law, Mot; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the wonderful techs, nurses, social workers, and clergy at Southern Care Hospice.
